Nicolas Salis : filmmaker, editor, VFX artist
Nicolas started shooting his first experimental short films as a student in Art School. Then gaining experience with digital fx, he kept working on his own film projects as writer, director, editor and visual artist. His short films Rosa Mertonensis and The Last Minute went to several festivals around the world. Shot in 2001, Rosa Mertonensis won the Kodak emerging Filmmakers Award in Cannes in 2002. The Last Minute, a full CG animation narrated by actor Jean Rochefort, has been broadcast on TV channels in Europe and screened in prestigious festivals - such as Cannes 2004 Official Selection – winning 9 awards including Méliès d'Or for Best Fantasy in 2005. His latest short — Mr Bulot Plays Golf — was shot in 2010. As director for promos and commercials, Nicolas has been working in Paris, Dubai, Beirut, Madrid, Milan, Prague, Warsaw, Reykjavik, Mumbai, Jakarta, to name a few...
